Why we do it...

The Roman Catholic Church has had a long standing devotion to the Mother of Our Savior Jesus Christ.

Saint Padre Pio wrote: "By saying 'yes', only yes, (in latin) 'fiat secundum, verbum tuum', in order to obey the will of God, Mary became the Mother of the Most High, declaring Herself to be His maidservant, but but preserving Her virginity which was so dear to God and to Her. Because of that 'yes', uttered by Mary Most Holy, the world obtained salvation; humanity was redeemed. Let us, too, always obey God's will and always say 'yes' to Our Lord."

Webmaster's note: literally, "fiat secundum, verbum tuum" translates as "my will (is) secondary, your words (be done) to me".   See Luke 1:26-38

In August of 1991, while Carlos Lopez was in California and his cousin Jorge Zavala was traveling in Colorado, they both began hearing Our Blessed Mother's voice.   She first identified herself to Carlos as the "Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the True Divinity, God Himself".

These two cousins are what the church calls "locutionists".   Carlos hears Our Blessed Mother audibly while Jorge hears her "in his heart".   They describe Her voice as soft, sweet, motherly and very loving.   They have also experienced visions of Our Lady and of Our lord.   Most of the messages are from Our Blessed Mother, although some have been from various saints and from Our Lord Jesus Christ.   The messages are usually received during the favorite prayer of Our Loving Mother, the Holy Rosary.

Carlos and Jorge, while living in the San Francisco area of northern California in the USA, are both originally from El Salvador.   Spanish being their native tongue, they receive the messages in Spanish.   All of their messages have been translated from Spanish to English (this is why once in a while the wording seems a little strange - neither Carlos or Jorge make any attempt to smooth the literal translation by adjusting or modifying Her words).

Our Blessed Mother asks us to return to a Sacramental life in the Church including frequent confession and regular attendance at Holy Mass.   She desires from us daily reading and living the Word of God, Eucharistic Adoration, consecration to Her Immaculate Heart.   She humbly asks us to pray the Holy Rosary - the weapon that will defeat satan.   She stresses the importance of being united with the Holy Father, the Vicar of Christ, who is and will always be in the truth.

Our Blessed Mother has also dictated a few inspirational prayers to Carlos and Jorge.   Besides receiving messages from Jesus and Mary, they have been priveligded to receive a few messages from St. Therese of The Child Jesus and one from St. John Bosco.

Carlos and Jorge willingly devote their lives to the extraordinary and awesome task of being Our Lady's humble messengers to a very dark and confused world.   Many miraculous spiritual and physical healings have occurred through their intercessory prayers.

Our Blessed Mother has asked that these messages of unity, faith, hope, conversion, love, peace, forgiveness, mercy, and urgency be given to the entire world.   This web site is part of that effort.

Carlos and Jorge meet regularly with Fr. Milton T. Walsh, formerly the Rector of St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco. Please address any inquiries regarding their standing in relation to the Church to Fr. Milton T. Walsh, S.T.D., Saint Patricks Seminary, 320 Middlefield road, Menlo Park, California 94025. Here is a scan of Fr. Walsh's letter of August 12, 1998.   Also available is a scan of a 4-page document that Fr. Walsh wrote in the spring of 1995 entitled "Reported Private Revelations in San Francisco: Theological and Pastoral Reflections".

Fr. Walsh has given permission to post Our Lady's messages to Carlos and Jorge on the internet.

Their Spiritual Advisors are Fr. Milton T. Walsh (mentioned above) and Fr. George Joyce of the Springfield, Massachutes diocese.

In January of 2003, Fr. Walsh asked Fr. Edmund Shipp to mentor Carlos and Jorge and here is a scan of Fr. Shipps' letter.
